San Clemente Engagement- Travis loves Becca

Love already existed long before Travis and Becca were born. Their moms were best friends in high school. They played together as babies, toddlers and as young kids. Travis’ family moved and the last time Becca saw him was when she was 7, but as the years passed she saw his parents when they visited and heard stories about him. He was doing the same… hearing about her. Then, earlier this year Travis came to visit. The little boy had grown up to be a handsome man and the pretty little girl was now a beautiful woman. Two families again once hung out together for the weekend. The night before Travis left, he kissed Becca catching her off guard. She had been having a great time, but taking it there had not crossed her mind. Travis flew to Colorado first thing in the morning and for the next few days they texted and talked non-stop on the phone. The following weekend, Becca was on a plane to see Travis cross a marathon finish line. That race had ended, but the love marathon was about to begin. Two states divided them, but they didn’t go more than two weeks without seeing each other. Their relationship was easy and fun…just as it had been when they were innocent kids playing. They knew so much about each other and their families. They loved each other. So after three months, Travis in a crowded restaurant got down on one knee and asked Becca to marry him. Becca said yes to the love of her life.

Claremont Engagement- Milano and Kristen

The first time they met was in Chemistry class… but there was no chemistry between them. They were only two cool kids who asked about each other’s softball games. It wasn’t until years later when they hung out with a mutual friend that the sparks actually started. But what do you do when the person you enjoy spending time with, the one you think about constantly, the one you miss minutes after you leave is going away… faraway. Do you end it or do you value every phone call, every message, every text, every visit? Do you grow closer and learn more about that person because you end up sharing every emotion, every thought with every word you type?
Kristen had gotten a soft ball scholarship and was moving across the country. They would be apart only three months into dating. The decision was made to enter into a long distance relationship. Somehow, they knew it would work. They knew they belonged together so much so that the day Kristen went to buy a card celebrating their one year anniversary, she also bought a card celebrating their one year wedding anniversary. She knew he would be her husband and Milano had already decided to love her forever.
Since finding love had been so easy for them, the proposal had to be something that Kristen searched for… a scavenger hunt. Once all the items had been found and the clues were shown, the words, “Will you marry me?,” were before her. Kristen said, “Yes,” to what she already knew.

Murrieta Engagement Photography- Bryan and Jessica

Bryan remembers that he met Jessica when his hacky sack got stuck in the eave of  a building of a shopping center.  He borrowed  Jessica’s mom’s cane to get it down and noticed Jessica for the first time. She was oblivious to the guy who then had black hair. For Jessica, the first time she met Bryan… noticed him… was after Bible study. Of all nights, she had taken her dad along. She and Bryan talked and became friends under the watchful eyes of her father.  Friends… good friends.. friends that hung out a lot.  A lot. That was all.  In each of their hearts, each was more, but neither said anything. Finally, on a day when Jessica  was determined to tell him how she felt, to protect her heart… it was Bryan who after hours of silence said he liked her. Fast forward to the eve of Jessica’s birthday. Bryan convinced her to go for a hike close to midnight. (The next morning he had to be at work at 3:00 a.m and Jessica had to leave by 5:00 a.m.) There atop a city view, Jessica blew out a candle on a cupcake, closed her eyes, made a wish, opened her eyes to find Bryan on one knee with a ring asking, “Will you marry me?”

Kimberly Crest Engagement- Andrew and Melissa

Sometimes love is right and everyone knows it immediately. There are no games to play, no time to think and only the desire to be with that person exists. Andrew and Melissa met online…on Plenty of Fish! Within a week Melissa had already spent time with Andrew’s family and in a month they were taking a cruise together. Melissa would ask, “Is this crazy?” And her friends would respond, “He’s nice and you like him.” It was more than like. For both of them it was love.  There was no reason to slow down.

Claremont Colleges Engagement Session- Jamie loves Jamie

His name is Jamie and her name is Jamie. I asked them, “Who is Jamie number 1?” He answered, “I was born first.” She countered with, “Yes, but it says, ‘Jamie,’ on my birth certificate.” So much for figuring out who is who. But I love how Jamie Squared came to be.
Jamie had no intention of meeting Jamie that night…or ever. The idea of meeting a guy with her same name was not cute, as it was to everyone who loved the idea. That night especially… She had been studying, was in sweats and just wanted to stay home. Her friend Kara insisted on going bowling and pretty much guilted Jamie into going. When Kara passed the bowling alley and went instead to her boyfriend’s Brent’s house, Jamie knew something was up. Moments later, a boy named Jamie knocked on the door. There he was. Yes.. he was cute, but his name was Jamie! How dorky was that? Nope.. wasn’t going to happen. She was grumpy, tired and irritated.. and yet Jamie saw something in her.
They became friends on My Space, (Yup… MySpace!) talked on the phone everyday and eventually they went to a birthday party together. That night, they became inseparable. It was August 11th. And now on August 11th, 2013, seven years later they will be the Jamies forever!
