Pasadena City Hall Engagement: Julio loves Meryssa

Julio stood on the rim of a Hawaiian Volcano with Meryssa by his side. Ten years ago, they had been kids who had met on a soccer field at their high school. Now, they were surrounded by the awe-inspiring beauty of nature. They were not just best friends and partners, but Kindred Spirits.

Julio was the man Meryssa had prayed for. She wanted a love as powerful as the one her parents had. From the first moment, she noticed he was charming, funny, and passionate. Soon, she would realize that he was also hardworking, selfless, and a romantic. He was always putting others before himself. He shared her love for adventures and Disney. He was her beast and she was his beauty. 🥀💛

Meryssa was the woman who always gave Julio unwavering support through every adventure and challenge they faced together. She was enchanting, adventurous, yet nurturing. Meryssa’s charm and grace captivated everyone around her, making every moment magical. She had the innate ability to bring warmth and comfort to those around her. She fearlessly embraced new experiences, making life an exhilarating journey.

In those moments of shared joy, mutual understanding, and deep connection, Julio knew Meryssa was the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. So with Waikiki and the world before them, Julio proposed, and Meryssa said, “Yes.” Forever begin on April 27, 2024

    Proposal Photography: Paulina said, “Yes!”

She thought her boyfriend was getting his headshots taken. Instead, José was on the phone with me, coming up with the best way to surprise Paulina. The plan was simple… take headshots. We really did, and then, of course, we needed an artistic shot. Paulina would turn her back, and we would take pictures of him playing the Bass Clarinet, and she would turn. She did, but my assistant had already taken his Bass Clarinet away, and he was instead on one knee proposing. Paulina said, “Yes!” Let the wedding planning begin!

    Palm Springs Photography: Young Family

Six years ago, Anthony and Christena took their engagement pictures on the desert sands of Palm Springs. They returned with two beautiful children… Mae and Micah. Their kids played with rocks and ran while their parents continued their Love Story.

Redondo Beach Pier Engagement Photography: Michael loves Karah

Neither had any intention of meeting anyone that night. But fate had brought them both to a bar in Camden called Underworld. There on the dance floor, the inevitable happened. They saw each other. The Universe had brought Karah 5,000 miles away from her home to meet Michael. She was in England, studying fashion. Within minutes, Michael and Karah were gravitating towards each other. And as if they had known each other before, they kissed.

Michael brought her a drink, got her info and left. He was the designated driver. The next day, Karah woke up to a message and a dinner invitation. It was on that first date that Michael knew she was the one. He did not want to be apart from her. But within a month, Karah was leaving to return home.

Michael bought an airplane ticket and Karah had an awkward conversation with her parents that she was bringing home someone for them to meet. Understandably, there was a bit of concern. Then they met him and saw why Karah did not doubt that they would always be together.

Michael loved Karah. She was the most selfless and empathetic person he had ever met. She had a heart of gold. There is not a day that goes by that he doesn’t step back and and appreciate how lucky he is.

A long distance relationship had begun. Michael proposed in Boston in 2018. It was a very in the moment proposal. Then the pandemic happened. They were married in a simple court wedding in London. Of course, family and friends were not able to attend and so a second wedding has been planned.

A second wedding meant a second proposal. There on the Redondo Pier, a place so enjoyed by Karah’s family, Michael got down on one knee as the sun was setting and asked her to marry him. He gave her a second ring. Karah, of course said, ” Yes!!!,”….again.

Pasadena Engagement Photographer: Juan loves Jasmine

Jasmine had already heard of Juan, long before she started working for the Los Angeles County Parks & Recreation. Her cousins talked about him all the time. They worked different shifts, until one day, the stars aligned and they had a chance to make up an excuse to talk to each other. And so it began the friendship began.

One afternoon, Juan offered Jasmine a ride home. He had no clue that her grandparents literally lived four houses away. Jasmine told him that she could walk home, but not before leaning in to kiss him and thanking her for the ride. Perhaps it was that first kiss or that Juan was not about to let a pretty girl walk home alone, so he found himself following her with his car insisting that he could give her a ride. Jasmine kept telling him she was almost home and he kept saying, “I just want to make sure you get home safe.” She did. And now Juan was stopped in front of Jasmine’s grandparent’s house talking with her when all of her siblings and cousins came out to see what was going on. Juan had been kissed, stalked Jasmine with the car and had met her family all in one day.

It would take a few months for that real first date to happen, but instead of wearing heels, Jasmine wore a long brace and crutches. She had knee surgery for a torn meniscus. When ever Juan saw her, he would try to help her, asking her if there was anything she needed. Jasmine figured that if he could deal with her on crutches, he could deal with anything and so she agreed to the date.

Jasmine right away saw that there was something special about him that she did not want to lose. She fell in love with his personality, his humor, the strength in the way he represented himself, his smile, and his confidence. Juan fell in love with her big heart. He had never met a more kind, generous and loving person.

Within a year, they would be parents to a son. Their love had to grow. Then they would be blessed with a daughter. They were a family.

The engagement ring that Jasmine would wear, belonged to her grandmother. It was the ring that her grandfather had bought her for their 25th Wedding Anniversary. When they were about to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary, he passed away leaving an example of love, devotion and commitment. This is the love that Jasmine and Juan want for each other. This is the love story that they will strive to create for each other and their children.
