Claremont Engagement: David loves Sandra

David’s son knew that Sandra was definitely someone his dad should meet. Neither, David or Sandra were really convinced. So that first meeting was nothing spectacular. If any part of it was memorable, it was because David was wearing some crazy golf pants.
The second meeting would be what they called their first. David needed candy and went on to ask Sandra for help in the candy aisle, being his ever charming self. Even though, he was not wearing his golf pants, Sandra recognized him and said, “You realize we have already met?” A restaurant called, “Mama Carbines,” would be their first date.
Soon they realized that each other was the one. They saw kindness in each other. And being with each other made them the happiest they had ever been.
David proposed very honestly and calmly. It was as Sandra described a very REAL moment. He went and got the ring walked upstairs to where she was folding laundry. He told her how he felt about got down on one knee and proposed saying he would love to spend the rest of his life with me. Sandra, of course said, “Yes!” to the man she could never imagine being without.

      Claremont Engagement- Milano and Kristen

The first time they met was in Chemistry class… but there was no chemistry between them. They were only two cool kids who asked about each other’s softball games. It wasn’t until years later when they hung out with a mutual friend that the sparks actually started. But what do you do when the person you enjoy spending time with, the one you think about constantly, the one you miss minutes after you leave is going away… faraway. Do you end it or do you value every phone call, every message, every text, every visit? Do you grow closer and learn more about that person because you end up sharing every emotion, every thought with every word you type?
Kristen had gotten a soft ball scholarship and was moving across the country. They would be apart only three months into dating. The decision was made to enter into a long distance relationship. Somehow, they knew it would work. They knew they belonged together so much so that the day Kristen went to buy a card celebrating their one year anniversary, she also bought a card celebrating their one year wedding anniversary. She knew he would be her husband and Milano had already decided to love her forever.
Since finding love had been so easy for them, the proposal had to be something that Kristen searched for… a scavenger hunt. Once all the items had been found and the clues were shown, the words, “Will you marry me?,” were before her. Kristen said, “Yes,” to what she already knew.

Claremont Family Session- The Bento Family

True friends come into your life and stay… and the best of your friends let you close to their families. For years, I have been enjoying Argentinian Empanadas, hearing how the Argentinian Soccer teams rule and well… now the Pope is Argentinian. Bring on the Chimichuri!

Claremont Colleges Engagement Session- Jamie loves Jamie

His name is Jamie and her name is Jamie. I asked them, “Who is Jamie number 1?” He answered, “I was born first.” She countered with, “Yes, but it says, ‘Jamie,’ on my birth certificate.” So much for figuring out who is who. But I love how Jamie Squared came to be.
Jamie had no intention of meeting Jamie that night…or ever. The idea of meeting a guy with her same name was not cute, as it was to everyone who loved the idea. That night especially… She had been studying, was in sweats and just wanted to stay home. Her friend Kara insisted on going bowling and pretty much guilted Jamie into going. When Kara passed the bowling alley and went instead to her boyfriend’s Brent’s house, Jamie knew something was up. Moments later, a boy named Jamie knocked on the door. There he was. Yes.. he was cute, but his name was Jamie! How dorky was that? Nope.. wasn’t going to happen. She was grumpy, tired and irritated.. and yet Jamie saw something in her.
They became friends on My Space, (Yup… MySpace!) talked on the phone everyday and eventually they went to a birthday party together. That night, they became inseparable. It was August 11th. And now on August 11th, 2013, seven years later they will be the Jamies forever!
