Chino Hills Wetlands Engagement: Chris loves Valeria

It would be a phone call that would set the wheel of fate spinning. There was no reason for Chris to receive an invitation for an interview. He had a stable job with good pay, but a greater power seemed to give him an opportunity he had no clue he wanted or needed. He interviewed and accepted the job. He did not know it then, but he was about to work beside a woman who would make him perceive the world much differently.

Valeria had noticed the new, cute guy at work for a while. His good looks had caught her attention, but now she was seeing that he was kind and thoughtful with everyone around him. Valeria decided to make her move, and she asked him to lunch. Chris, who was usually very quick with analyzing and making decisions, got stumped. A beautiful woman was inviting him to spend time over a meal and all he could say was, “I brought my own lunch”. It was not the answer that Valeria was hoping for and Chris beat himself up all day with regret.

Fate, however, wasn’t done nudging them together. After a work event one evening, a group of coworkers stopped at In-N-Out. Valeria’s shoes were killing her and she took. them off. Without hesitation, Chris took off his socks and gave them to her so she wouldn’t have to walk barefoot. That simple, selfless gesture shifted something in her heart. Soon after, Chris finally picked up on her hints and asked her to dinner.

Their first big date was unforgettable—a hockey game where the Anaheim Ducks won in double overtime. That night, Chris officially asked Valeria out, and from then on, their story truly began. Nervous but hopeful, Chris worried about things like his old beat-up car. But Valeria never cared about appearances or material things. She saw him for who he was. “From that night forward, I watched him effortlessly fit in with my family. I fell more deeply in love with his kindness, his patience, and the way he always puts others before himself. It’s the little things, like making me coffee before I even ask, meal prepping my lunches for the week or surprising me with flowers when I’ve had a rough day. That quiet, everyday thoughtfulness is one of the things I love most about him.”

As the years went on, their love deepened through family gatherings, vacations, and countless everyday moments. Chris fell for Valerie’a compassion—her instinct to help. “She’ll see a frail person with groceries walking home and offer them a ride, she’ll stop and get water for wandering pets, she’ll offer patients a ride home if their ride service gets delayed. Just a few weeks ago, this group of individuals just crossed the border and asked how to get to a certain city and of course Val went above and beyond and helped them out with funds to get there. This type of behavior is not taught, it is developed to how you perceive the world and I love her greatly for that.”

Together, they’ve supported each other through both joyful times and heartbreak. When Chris lost his father in 2021, Valerie was his rock. On his birthday, she gave him a framed photo of his dad with a QR code linking to his father’s last voicemail—a gift that moved him to tears and reminded him he had found someone whose love was boundless and enduring.

After more than eight years of laughter, adventures, and quiet Sundays spent watching football and enjoying BBQ, Chris knew it was time to ask Valerie to marry him. He spent months designing the perfect ring, certain he knew exactly what she would love. He asked her parents, received a tearful blessing from his future father-in-law, and planned a proposal during a trip to visit her brothers in Las Vegas.

New Year’s Eve closures forced Chris to take her to a scenic drive in Red Rock Canyon. As they admired the breathtaking view of mountains and canyons, he dropped to one knee. Valeria turned, and emotion overtook her. The expected tears flowed. What was unexpected was that Chris was crying too. He had cried when he lost part of his family, and now he cried again as he started his own family. Valeria of course said yes!

Today, Chris and Valeria look back with gratitude on every twist of fate that brought them together—from a spontaneous job interview to socks at In-N-Out, from BBQ Sundays to canyon sunsets. They are best friends, partners, and now, soon-to-be husband and wife.

Huntington Beach Proposal: Yagnik loves Dhwani

Yagnik planned a proposal on the beach. His brother and friends set up and he arrived with his love by his side. Dhwani’s hair blew in the wind and Yagnik knelt on one knee. Dhwani said yes to her best friend, her safe place, and the love of her life.

“He is kind, calm, and such a perfectionist — in the best way. Where I’m fire, he’s water. When I lose my patience, he holds his. When I fall apart, he stays grounded. He doesn’t just want things to be perfect — he tries to make them better, every single time. Even when I get angry over the smallest things, he never matches my fire with more fire. He just holds space for me. That kind of love? Rare. And I’m lucky.”- Dhwani

Your smile – It brightens my day, and it’s the first thing that made me fall for you.

Your heart – Overflowing with kindness, you make everyone around you feel cared for.

Your eyes – Full of love and understanding, they always have a way of captivating me.

“In a world full of moments, you are my favorite.” -Yagnik

Bonelli Park, San Dimas: Engagement: Tristan loves Jessie

Las Vegas had called them both. Jessie was there for a conference, and Tristan was there for a golf tournament. Tristan had just won big, but he was about to win even bigger in love. Jessie was sitting with her colleagues at the bar, unaware that the man she was about to meet would be the one she would allow into her heart.

Tristan remembers the moment as….“The first time I saw you, I fell in love with you. Your smile caught my attention from across the room, and as I walked closer, it felt like a fog was lifting, revealing the most beautiful sight I had ever seen.”

Tristan offered to buy Jessie a drink. She told him that he would have to buy a drink for everyone in her tribe. He did. And so they both gambled… with Tristan’s money and took a gamble with their hearts. They talked until 3:00 a.m. They learned they were both grieving. Within a week’s time, they had both lost people they loved. It was the start of being there for each other.

But being there for each other was not as easy. Jessie lived in California and Tristan in Colorado—phone calls, text messages, and finally a first date in Temecula. Jessie, who did her best to guard her heart, would soon see that Tristan was kind, generous, patient, and loving. “My love for Tristan took its time to come…I was guarded, extremely guarded and did not want to allow anyone in my space and much less with my family.  However, his genuine and pure personality allowed him into my heart.  My heart was broken because of losing my dad, we both had huge voids in our lives, and by the grace of God and our two angels in heaven, we met. “

Tristan was with a woman he felt had saved him in so many ways. Jessie was romantic, deeply rooted in love and emotional connection, heartfelt, sincere and genuine in expression, and devoted, showing unwavering commitment and affection. This was the woman he wanted as his wife.

“Every day I spend with you, I fall even more in love. You are the strongest woman I have ever met, with the biggest heart, and the way you love is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. You love with your heart, your soul, and your whole being—and it’s the most incredible gift I’ve ever been given. You are my best friend, my confidant, my ride-or-die. You are the best part of me, and my world is complete with you in it. The truth is simple—you are my world.

So at Wilson Creek Winery, the same place where they had gone on their first date, Tristan asked Jessie to marry him. This was no longer a gamble or even a sure bet. This was certainty. Jessie said, “Yes.” to the man she loved.

California Engagement Photographer: Vellano Estate Wedding: Mia loves Jeff

Mia was holding her dog in the profile picture that Jeff noticed on Hinge. The dog was cute, and the girl holding it was beautiful. Jeff nervously thought of a million things to message; he finally asked about the dog. She answered him, and he learned that the dog’s name was Poppy. From that moment on, Jeff—much like Poppy—found his heart on a leash, with Mia holding the other end.

Their first date almost didn’t happen. The plan was to meet in San Diego, but a miscommunication led them to meet a hundred miles away in Fontana. She was visiting her grandmother, and Jeff was meeting up with family to leave for a vacation.

Jeff soon saw that Mia was not just beautiful outside, but her beauty came from within.

“Mia is incredible; she is unconditional, kind, empathetic, and just a strong force of love and compassion. I love her because no matter what I do that may frustrate her, no matter how long my hours are at work, she stays by my side and always has my best interests at heart. I love her because of her undying support, her beautiful soul, and her willingness to put up with me.”

Mia soon learned that the cute guy who had her attention was also one that brought her calmness.

Jeff is the most emotionally intelligent person I know. He brings me a lot of peace and calm. He is passionate, uplifting, and compassionate. I love how his family leans on him and how close and supportive he is with everybody in his family. He’s good at everything he puts his heart into and he’s very funny, but if you say that to him you won’t be able to turn the jokes off. I knew he was the one after he met my family and everybody got along so effortlessly. My very macho, quiet uncle even pulled me aside to tell me he really loved Jeff. Everybody who meets him loves him.

From the beginning, Jeff was all-in—lavish dates, a private gondola ride, a Valentine’s dog cake for Poppy, even inviting Mia to Alaska after just three weeks (she politely declined). All big crazy things! Mia was a little hesitant about it at first, but she soon realized that he was just somebody who went all in on what he wanted. And what Jeff wanted was Mia.

On Christmas Eve, the three of them—Jeff, Mia, and Poppy—set out for a walk. Jeff’s plan was to propose under a big tree in a roundabout. But Poppy, the matchmaker from day one, had other ideas. She slipped off her leash and led them to the backyard.

There, with Poppy as witness, Jeff asked Mia to marry him. She said, “Yes,” to the man she loved.
