Silvia Tarazón- Behind the Story…in Time.

She usually has my keys around her neck, my phone in her pocket, a lens bag on her shoulder and reflectors in her hand.

She responds to an email, texts my 2nd photographer, and even updates my status on Facebook during a shoot.

She can retouch a bride’s make up, drive a golf cart, hold back a mob (they wanted to see the first look) and watch little kids.

At reception, she will set up a slide show, hold a led light, hand me lenses, change batteries, and keep our gear safe.

She often hears the following phrases, “Stand there and pretend to be a bride.” “Fix her necklace!” “”More light!” “Run to my car and get..” “Silvia!!!!”

She keeps me on time, reads off photo lists, reminds that I haven’t shot the rings and warns me that I’m going to miss the sunset.
As one guest said, “She is amazing and without her there would be chaos.” Yes, but I still wish she could control weather and keep the sun from setting.

In the end, I’m the one that gets thanked for the pictures. I receive the praise…(For some reason the song, Wind Beneath my Wings by Bette Milder is going through my head right now.) I know that without her, my job would be a lot harder.

Thank you Silvia for all the above, but also for letting me use your lotion, singing in the car with me, laughing at my craziness, and making all the shoots with you fun!

Behind the Wedding Story- Serena and Moses

We do a better job of taking the pictures than being in them. Here’s a glimpse of what goes on as we capture a wedding story. (And um…please note, I changed my shoes and I added a blazer for the ceremony and the reception.)

I am not afraid to get on the floor. Sometimes it’s the best place to be.

There were sprinklers and we knew we could use them. My second photographer is explaining what looks like the importance of Jazz Hands.

Sometimes the best way to describe what we want is to do it ourselves. (Yes, the bride and groom always look better!)

A picture captures a moment in life, a reason to remember, holding the ones we LOVE... FOREVER.. in a Story in Time.
