Craig and Kathy will be celebrating 32 years of marriage on October 6th. They met at church around middle school age, but didn’t really notice each other until they were college age. They were at a New Year’s Eve party and hit it off and shared a kiss at midnight. It was cold so Craig gave Kathy his jacket so then days later she had to return it…it led to long talks after church, dates to the movies, skiing in Big Bear, beach days…love, plans, a proposal, a wedding and two beautiful daughters.
The dress Kathy is wearing is going on a container to Malawi due to ship in August. The young women in the African village want the same experience of wearing a beautiful white dress on their most special day, but they can not afford it. The Mulunguzi church is collecting bridal gowns for the women to use on their wedding day. Kathy, one of the most caring people I know, can’t wait for a young woman in Malawi to have the same joy and happiness as she did on her wedding day. “If a white wedding gown helps to give her that joy, then I am so blessed to help.”
