J and R will be celebrating their 35th Wedding Anniversary in May. In those 35 years, they have been blessed with 5 children and 2 granddaughters. They have welcomed a son-in-law and a daughter-in-law into their family, and now they are excited that another of their sons has proposed.
It was the beautiful green engagement ring that brought a family together from across the country. They joined to celebrate that their family would be growing. At seven in the morning, they loved, entertained children, teased each other, and laughed.

Kaylee Camila Banda, a proud native of Colton, California, is a driven and passionate junior who chose a unique educational path. Since the beginning of her sophomore year, she has been homeschooled—an experience that has strengthened her independence, discipline, and determination to pursue her dreams without limits.
For nearly a year, Kaylee has modeled for a local dress boutique, La Belle Gowns, representing prom and quinceañera collections at expos and special events. Through grace and confidence, she has embraced every runway as an opportunity to grow. Her dedication to excellence led her to train under a former Miss Teen California, who shares the same mentor as Fátima Bosch, Miss Universe. Under this guidance, Kaylee refined not only her stage presence but also her poise and purpose.
In her very first pageant, Kaylee earned an outstanding 95% in her interview—an extraordinary achievement that reflects her intelligence, authenticity, and preparation. But beyond crowns and scores, her heart lies in service. In her free time, she volunteers at her local animal shelter and at the Colton Public Library, believing that true beauty is reflected in kindness and community involvement.
Competing in this pageant is more than a goal for Kaylee—it is the realization of a lifelong dream. Having once been bullied for being “too much,” she has transformed those words into power. Today, she stands boldly in who she is, determined to inspire others who have ever felt different or misunderstood. Kaylee hopes to be a role model for young people everywhere—especially within the Latino community—proving that embracing your light, your culture, and your voice is your greatest strength.
With resilience in her spirit and purpose in her heart, Kaylee Camila Banda is not just chasing a crown—she is carrying a vision: to uplift her community, inspire children across the globe, and show the world that being “too much” is exactly enough.

Yes! A cemetery is a beautiful place for a wedding. The Church of the Recessional is on a hilltop at Forest Lawn. The church is inspired by a 13th-century church in England. It has stained glass windows, beautiful pillars, and greenery. Rose petals fall from the ceiling as the first kiss.

“He has a good heart, makes me smile, and we have fun whenever we are together.”-A
“She is beautiful, strong, and brilliant. She is the kindest person I know and always makes me laugh.” -A
Their names begin with the same initial, but the similarities do not end there. They finish each other sentences.

I love taking engagement pictures! I love hearing their love story and capturing another chapter. 1. Wear comfortable clothing. If you are not comfortable, it will show in the pictures. If something is too tight, difficult to move in, you wouldn’t be caught dead wearing this in front of your friends then don’t wear it. 2. You don’t have to dress to match where we are shooting. Heels at the beach? Not a good idea.. for walking, but that fancy dress will stand out! 3. Wear comfortable shoes to walk in or that can be easily changed. Flats to Pumps! 4. Wear NEUTRAL colors-beiges, whites, grays, olive green and browns, pinks, light blues….The jewel tones are also a great complimenting colors: sapphire, emerald, fushia, amethyst and ruby red. Please don’t wear black as a main color. 5. Please don’t wear something with lots of patterns or logos. That checkered shirt is going to be calling everyone’s attention to it instead of the main thing which is You, your fiancé and the ring! 6. You guys should kind of match each other: colors and style but not in a geeky way. In other words your fiancé in a suit and tie and you in jeans will not look cool. You also don’t want to wear the exact same shirt. That’s so “brother and sister.” My mom would dress my brother and me up in matching clothing. No wonder we have issues. 7. You don’t have to get your hair and makeup done for the pictures, but what a great time for your makeup artist to practice! Go get that trial done! Pamper yourself. These are your engagement pictures! … Make sure your hands are nice, manicured nails… unlike my jagged, nail-chipped ones that are dry. I know gross, but my hands aren’t in the picture. Yours will be! There’s an awesome engagement ring on it! 8. If we are changing outfits, start with the fancy one first and then go casual. Maybe there is a team you love… (Go Dodgers!)
