Japanese Engagement Photography: John loves Kellie

Kellie not only loves her fiancé John, but his mom as well. John’s mom only had sons and this would be her first American Wedding. So when she wanted to incorporate Japanese culture into the wedding, Kellie happily agreed to a Kimono Engagement Session. This made both of their parents excited and happy. John is Issei, first generation born in the USA and Kellie is Yonsei, fourth generation. Kellie a wore a Furisode Kimono, which is worn by unmarried women. John wore traditional Hakama (men’s kimono pants) and Haori (kimono jacket).
If Japanese traditions are serious, the seriousness soon got overshadowed by John and Kellie’s playful, energetic and goofy relationship. At one point, there was a modeling contest… which John says he won and a sword fight with Monsters coming out the water. (Please note, the monster appearing in this session was not harmed and got along beautifully with the coy fish. You can find him at Krome.)
