Fairmount Park Riverside Sweet 16: Dalila

Anna wanted a baby more than anything, and it was not happening. Then suddenly, at the least expected moment, her prayer was granted. She was expecting a little girl. On January 4th, 2008 Dalila made her a mommy. Three weeks early and only weighing 6 lbs, Dalila was the biggest blessing.

Dalila is known for her sweet heart and caring nature. She has a soft spot for kids and dogs. While she may be a bit reserved at first, once you get to know her, you’ll be rewarded by her kindness. She loves creating thoughtful gifts, whether it’s baking cookies, crafting paper flowers, making jewelry, or writing heartfelt letters, Dalila’s thoughtfulness shines through in everything she does.

Just when you think she is quiet, Dalila will play rock music on the drums, and just when you think she is fragile, she will pitch a softball with fierceness.

This Sweet 16 will celebrate how proud her parents are of her being a good kid and trying her hardest at life.

Fairmount Park Engagement: Sergio loves Cristina

Sergio swiped right on the girl with the beautiful eyes. Cristina swiped right too and they were a match. Sergio messaged her and soon they were meeting for dinner at Shogun. To this day, that restaurant is one of their favorite places because it was where it all began. She thought he was shy, he was just happy to be there. Soon Cristina would see how charming, affectionate and full of life he was. Sergio saw far beyond her beauty. She had a kind heart and was so special. He was charmed by everything about her.

It would not take long for him to realize how super happy he was around her and how he couldn’t wait to see her when they were apart. This was the girl he wanted to marry. So there at Fairmount Park, under the trees and at the edge of the water, Sergio gave Cristina a ring. He didn’t need to say anything. Cristina ready every word on his heart and said, “Yes.”

Fairmount Park Riverside: Family Photography: Sanchez

Kathleen loves her kids and she loves pictures with them. For the last nine years, she has always done a session at Fairmount Park. Her regular photographer was unavailable and I had the honor of spending time with her family. These kids are kind, sweet and incredibly polite. Mia is thirteen. She is shy but helpful, very fashionable, compassionate, loves children and babies and has a super soft part for people with special needs! Candice is twelve. She is extremely helpful, kind hearted, gentle, very polite, always does exactly as she is told and loves to craft and draw. Anthony is eleven. He is brave, fierce, very outgoing and talkative. He knows every single president and all kinds of random facts about them! Michael is ten. He is ten. He is kind, very curious about everything. He will ask 35 questions back to back and be upset if you don’t have some type of answer. He loves everything about school buses and the weather. They all love their mom very much.

Corona Wedding Photography: Kris and Heather

      “You’ve been on my mind
      I grow fonder every day
      Lose myself in time.”
      – Adele

Heather came into view and Kris wiped a tear. Half way down the aisle, Heather stopped and her father joined her. Heather kissed her mom as Kris wiped another tear. They joined arms and walked towards the altar. Moments later, they would be laughing and pointing to the bridesmaid that introduced them when retelling their love story to Father Hieu. Everyone laughed when Kris joked that he was waiting to kiss Heather for the first time. In a traditional Filipino Ceremony, Heather and Kris exchanged vows and rings. The Lazo that Heather’s parents had used was draped over them. They received the blessing from all of their sponsors and exited the church as husband and wife.
Soon they were laughing and messing around with their bridal party. At reception, Heather and Kris entered a packed hall. While their first dance was traditional, their parent dances were not. Heather did a ballroom dance with her dad and Kris showed off with his mom. Later, Heather would play the keyboard and sing the song One and Only by Adele.
“I’ve been here before. Every feeling, every word, I’ve imagined it all. You’ll never know if you never try
To forget the past and simply be mine. I dare you to let me be your, your one and only. I promise I’m worthy,
To hold in your arms. So come on and give me the chance, to prove I am the one who can walk that mile
      Until the end starts.”

The end of the night came too soon, but forever was theirs.

Fairmount Park Engagement- Elizabeth and Andrew

Elizabeth knew she had his love. It was something she never wanted to lose and so she said, “No.” She said, “No,” every time her best friend asked her out. He insisted over the years, but she did not want to risk losing his friendship and ultimately losing him. So friends they stayed…sharing, caring, listening, helping each other. Andrew was done. He loved her. And so for the last time he asked her. Elizabeth didn’t answer right away. She told him he would have his answer on Myspace. (Okay.. at this point this photographer is shaking her head. Really Elizabeth? You put him through all this and he still has to go home and check on the internet? Jeesh. He loves you.) The answer on the computer screen for all to see was, “Yes!” And then on Christmas Day, once again Andrew had another question for her. In front of both of their families, he gave her a scrapbook that detailed chapters in their life: meeting her in high school, falling in love with his best friend, their first kiss, the last chapter said, “Marriage,” and it was blank. Andrew dropped to one knee and said, “You’ve been my best friend for the past ten years, the best girlfriend for the last six. Will you continue writing our story? Will you marry me?” This time Elizabeth said, “Yes!” right away.
