Chino Hills Wetlands Engagement Session: Robert loves Melissa

Just like in one of those cheesy love movies where the characters lock eyes, until one of them realizes what is happening and quickly looks away embarrassed, but smiling and blushing, Melissa and Robert met. From that moment, they had connection that was unique to them.

It was a biology class at Azusa Pacific University. Melissa was the TA and suddenly Robert was sitting in front other. The following class, Robert gave Melissa his number on a note that said, “If you need anyone to hang out with, here’s my number.” To his happiness, Melissa texted him that night. She would soon see that he was caring, thoughtful and charming.

Robert could only think of a future with Melissa and so at a prom that they were chaperoning, he proposed. There in front of the Jelly Fish Exhibit at the Aquarium of the Pacific, Robert asked Melissa to be his forever.

(These pictures were taken only 4 days after their engagement. )

Mt. Baldy Engagement Session: Michael loves Taline

Michael played the video of the Taline high-kicking a taco piñata on the Hinge App and knew immediately that he had to meet her. She was beautiful and fun. A date was set up at Grand Central Market. Over Filipino food at the Sari Sari Store, they held the first of many conversations. Taline was very intrigued by Michael. Besides his good looks, he had some really good stories. He was funny. He seemed like a genuine, nice person. She felt like they could talk for hours… and they did until the restaurant closed. Taline knew that she wanted to keep hanging out with him. Michael left that night feeling excited about having met her, yet also comfortable.

Michael soon learned that she had that effect on people. She was thoughtful, fun and … magnetic. Strangers coming up to them, complimenting her on one of her many fun outfits would become instant friends. Michael loved how incredibly thoughtful she was, and she had the best memory of anyone he knew. Taline could pick up a conversation exactly where it was left off, even if it was a friend or acquaintance they haven’t seen in months. She genuinely cared so much for the people in her life.

Taline loved Michael because he was adventurous, kind, thoughtful, fun and true to himself. It became even more clear what an awesome, amazing person she had found because of the way he could always make her feel better. She loved how his brain worked. He was always problem solving and learning and thinking up new and exciting ways to have fun. She loved how he thought of other people, how he had so much compassion for others. He was kind and sweet and supportive and so so loving. He made her laugh every night. He was like a natural mood lifter. They would go on all these amazing adventures, but for Taline the best part were always the conversations.

Michael knew that he was so lucky to have Taline. She lit up the world around her and he always wanted be part of that world. So on a weekend away to the Central Coast, Michael asked Taline to go on a quick hike. They hiked to a spot that overlooks all of Morro Bay and Cayucos. It would be there, that Michael would get down on one knee and spill his heart, in a thought out speech. Taline of course said, “Yes!,” to a lifetime of adventures with him.

      Pasadena Engagement: Christian loves Yvette

She was the girl that hung out with the athletic crowd. He was more the silent artist. He would see her participate in soccer, cross country, and track. She just knew him as the guy with the Chivas Backpack. Christian felt that she was too cool to even really talk to her. It would not be until college when their paths would cross again.

Yvette now noticed the cute guy. (The Chivas Backpack was gone!) He soon became her best friend. She fell in love with his big heart. He was charming, kind, loving, loyal, thoughtful, humble and honest. He made her laugh with his random jokes.

Christian couldn’t help to love Yvette. She was humble, loyal and had a strong character. And he loved her butt! If he joked about a lot of things, he didn’t when it came to his love for her. He wanted her as his wife. He would give her a ring that he knew she would love and as beautiful as her. It was a Disney Ariel Ring. Yvette of course said, “Yes.”

Bonelli Park Engagement and Family Session: Ulises loves Anna

Sometimes Destiny brings two people together who have been broken and hurt because they will lift each other up, they will be each other’s strength, they will be each other’s answer to a prayer. For Ulises and Anna, it was exactly that.

They were both freshly separated from their marriages and they were friends. Both were apprehensive and unsure in stepping into another relationship, but as Ulises told Anna, he didn’t want her, “not in his life,” even if it meant that it would be nothing more than a friendship.

Two amazing people who each described the other as, “Strength and a positive force,” had to be more than friends. Ana had fallen in love in his heart. Ulises called her, “the love of his life.”

The first kiss would be incredible. Suddenly they were a team. They had God and their children at the center of their relationship. Everything, they did as a family…. never with his kids….or her kids, but The Kids. Each admired the other for loving the children.

Ulises loved that Anna talked with her hands. He was fascinated by the way she described everything as she were directing an orchestra in a theater. What was missing from her hands was a ring. He took Anna to the park and there, the kids held signs that read, “Will you marry my dad?” The man’s whose smiled she loved, who usually towered over her, hugging her making her feel safe and small, was on his knee and asking Anna to be his forever. Anna said, “Yes,” to true love, to laughter and smiles, and to a partner that would be by her side facing the world with her. Anna said, “Yes,” to Ulises.

California Family Photography: Mt. Baldy: Aguirre

Robert stood to the side as I photographed his wife Kathy. He took out his phone and took his own picture. After 16 years of marriage, she is still his princess and he is still her soul mate. Together, they have three sons and their love for them continues in their description for each other. Roberto calls her a loving wife and she calls him a perfect father.
