Vintage Engagement-Danielle and Sifa

Danielle’s friend was dating Sifa’s cousin. They had the amazing idea that Danielle and Sifa would get along. And so this love story began with a phone call. Sifa dialed the number and looked down at the list of topics he had made in case the conversation stalled. He never needed that list. Danielle was the girl he could talk to, the one he could laugh with, the one that listened to his poetry, the one that made him smile… just thinking about her. Then came the first date and both Danielle and Sifa worried if they would like each other. Danielle’s mom drove her to meet him and teased her all the way there. Danielle looked at the boy  who years later would be the man that proposed on a beach and thought…”Thank God he’s  hot!” They watched a movie and Danielle cried during a sad scene. She feared Sifa would laugh at her, but he instead comforted her. She knew then that the sweet boy who could up put with her at her worst, had to be the one. She was in love… Forever.

Crystal’s Elegant Affairs- Wedding Planning and Coordination

A beautiful wedding is not something that easily comes together. There are details that must be put in to place, vendors that need to be informed and kept on a timeline, family members with special needs, last minute emergencies…etc. Crystal makes sure that a bride’s wedding day is as flawless and smooth as any Elegant Affair.

Crystal is an excellent wedding coordinator who truly cares about her clients and their special day. She ensures that every detail is put into place. She works along side the bride to put together a time line and to tie in all of the details. She also works closely with all of the vendors the day of the wedding. She over sees setup and the events, as well as be on site at the reception to make sure the events go off without a hitch ensuring that one of the most memorable days of a couple’s lives- their wedding- is an amazing day.

I had the opportunity to document Crystal during a wedding. Please note that I was not the wedding photographer for this event.

Ensuring that the layout is exactly the way the bride wanted it…. Greeting the Pastor and going over specifics of the ceremony. Talking with the DJ… Music for the Ceremony, names for the Grand Entrance… Making sure everyone knows where to go… Cuing everyone as they go down the aisle. Last minute reminders to smile and of course… fixing the bride’s dress.  One last peek as the bride makes her way down the aisle… While the Ceremony occurs a wedding coordinator continues to work. In this venue, tables were going to be moved into the ceremony site during Cocktail hour.
There are a list of family members who need to be at  in the Family Pictures.
It is the smallest details that make a bride happy and comfortable… Crystal went to find the bride after her pictures ensuring that the timeline went on schedule.  Making sure everyone is ready for the Grand Entrance.

  • Leslie VelazquezAwesome blog! Great way to showcase everything that a coordinator does. Yes, there is so much more that goes into all the details of coordinating a wedding. I completely understand and I don’t see in any way that this is pushing or forcing brides to hire a coordinator. It’s just a helpful blog to let people know what it takes to coordinate a wedding. Nice job!ReplyCancel

Coco Palms Wedding- Tayo and Kemi Okusanya

Sometimes love is within our reach and we do not see it…or know it is there. So God makes sure that love travels and follows us waiting for that moment to be known. They both lived in Nigeria…in the same city, but there paths never crossed. They both moved to the United States and lived on opposite sides of the country. She was in Florida and he was in California. A mutual friend insisted, Tayo called Kemi. That first phone call lasted 3 hours! For Kemi it was a magical conversation and she didn’t want it to end. Obviously Tayo didn’t either because he kept calling her back..everyday..sometimes four times a day. They fell in love…and loving each other was effortless. Within a month she was for the first time in Tayo’s arms. Five months later, Kemi moved to California. Tayo asked her to marry him. “God blessed me and hand picked him solely for me…I truly believe that.” Love had crossed a continent, a country…It was all God’s plan.

Sarah and Tim’s 50’s Engagement- San Dimas

Things are important. Things like green trucks and pretty rings. They are important because they are part of a love story. A truck that belongs to your grandfather and ring on the girl who said, “Yes,” and will love you forever. Love is timeless.

Mission Inn Wedding- Liz and Kevin Griffin

A week before their wedding Kevin posted on Facebook, “Tomorrow marks 1 week til I get to marry the woman of my dreams. I’m so excited I can’t wait…I love you Liz!!! A smile spread across his face as he saw Liz walk down the aisle of the St. Francis of Assisi towards him. That smile never left his face all night.
