Walnut High School Graduation: Anthony

Anthony graduated from Walnut High School. He will be going to Mt. Sac and possibly majoring in political science. He might even be a Social Studies teacher. He was once my kid in my classroom and survived. Crazy to think that in just 5 years he could be my colleague. Congratulations Anthony. Looking forward to your College Graduation!

Diamond Bar Family Photography: The Wadsworths

Robin is my best friend at work. She’s the talented choir teacher and this year’s Teacher of the Year. We jokingly call each other sister wives. (Our husbands roll their eyes.) Honestly, I do love her and her family. You might recognize her son Tyler as my second photographer.

Robin and Phill have been married 36 years. Robin describes Phill as content, loyal and hilarious. Chris as passionate, a thinker and strong and Tyler as creative, generous and funny. And as I went through all of those adjectives, I realized that Robin was all those. They have all gotten the best of her.

South Pointe Middle School- September 11th Memorial Service

Ten years ago my routine Tuesday morning was shattered, as it was for all Americans that September 11th. I watched the second airplane crash into the towers and left for work. I knew that day in my classroom would be different. I was no longer the Spanish and French teacher… I was simply a teacher… A teacher who had to explain to the kids the historic events that were changing our world.
Lessons of heroism, racism, politics, fanaticism, stereotypes would follow in days and years to come.
Ten years later, I stood on the roof top of our school and took pictures of children who were four and younger when 9-11 happened. They stood proud to be Americans, honored the fire department for being true heroes, listened to the incredible voice of Ariana Gonzales sing our national anthem and then… around a thousand children and their teachers held a moment of silence.

Betty and Steve have been married for forty years! Yup… that’s 40. FORTY! They have raised two beautiful, caring daughters, have two son-in-laws who they love and are blessed with five grandchildren whose smiles and giggles fill their hearts…

Every kid wants to sit in Pappy’s lap or held in Ammy’s arms. Jared, Lauryn, Sammy, Irie and Cade!

She is a princess!

These kids make me laugh!

907! Panther’s Rule!

I love it when my worlds collide-Teaching and Photography! South Pointe Middle School scored 907 on the Star Test! We went up 17 points! Our students, parents and teachers rock! South Pointe’s got talent!
(By the way…if you are wondering how you get 1000 kids and teachers to pose for a picture at 8:00 a.m, have a fire drill!)
