Brittany has graduated from the University of La Verne with a Master’s in Mild Moderate Special Education.
“My major is Mild/Moderate Special Education, which focuses on supporting students with disabilities such as learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and ADHD. I chose this field because it holds a special place in my life. As a student with a learning disability, I benefited greatly from the support, guidance, and understanding of my teachers throughout my K–12 education. Their positive impact inspired me to pursue a career in special education.
As a future educator, I want to provide my students with the same encouragement and support that helped me succeed. My goal is to help students develop not only academically but also socially and emotionally. It is rewarding to watch students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and grow into knowledgeable, capable individuals. Being a teacher gives me the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in their educational journey.
My career goal is to become an ASD teacher. I enjoy working with students with autism because each day brings new opportunities to learn, grow, and problem-solve. These students have unique perspectives, creative ideas, and wonderful personalities that make teaching both challenging and rewarding.”
