California Botanic Garden Wedding: S & J

It was hot. 105 degrees to be exact. But these two could have gotten married in a rainstorm or a perfect 78 degree weather day with a blue sky and big fluffy white clouds and it would have been the same. Two people who destiny had brought together were married.

Their ceremony mixed the typical western events with the Persian. The sofreh aghd was done. S and J were seated and a Cloth of Unity was held over their heads. Sugar was rubbed over them, covering them in sweetness. They also fed each other honey, representing the continual love and sweetness they will have for each other throughout their marriage. It also makes for a sweet first kiss.

The most important picture that J wanted was under the beautiful Majestic Oak. It is over 250 years old. That Oak Tree has witnessed so much love and now yet another couple shared their first hours of husband and wife beneath its branches.
