Oak Glen Engagement: Michael and Desiree

If love is a game, it is played with a ball. At one point, the ball is in someone’s court. What one chooses to do with that ball could cause anyone playing to win or lose. Michael and Desiree met because their best friends were cousins. It was not love at first sight, but shy Desiree had caught Michael’s attention. After hanging out almost every weekend together with friends, Michael made the first move. He walked Desiree to her car and spilled his heart out. He told her, “The ball is in your court.” Desiree response was, “Okay, I’ll see what I’ll do with the ball.” Since there are no rules in the game of love, Michael did not let her go until he got a kiss.
Michael had asked Desiree out several times.. to the movies, to dinner… bowling and each time Desiree had always made an excuse. Finally on New Year’s Day, Michael went with her to get a new phone and decided to take her out for those three dates she had declined in one.
Desiree was falling in love with man who made her feel safe, who saw the positive in everything and everyone. He was very loving and kind and made her laugh. Michael was in love with the girl who was sweet and loyal. With her, he wanted love to last a life time. So on Thanksgiving Day, exactly two years ago, he asked her parents for her hand and then proposed in front of her entire family. Desiree laughed and cried at the same time, nodded and said, “Yes.” If love is a game. Both people playing either win or lose.. Michael and Desiree won…and the game is never over.

Oak Glen Wedding Photography: Nicolas and Robin

Robin’s, “something blue,” were her cowboy boots, and they were as vibrant as her happiness that day. She joked and played and even put her flower girl in her wedding dress. “On her wedding day, I’m going to give her this picture.” Her friends told her the antics they were seeing the groomsmen do from the window and she laughed, as she joyfully waited to become only his. Nicolas had cut his finger the day before and Robin had rushed him to the emergency room. (In sickness and in health.) If he felt pain in his bandaged finger, he did not show it, and instead messed around with his guys. As he waited for Robin, to walk up to him, he became anxious, but the look in his eyes changed and he smiled, the moment he got a glimpse of her. “I was fine the moment I saw her.” The beautiful hills of Oak Glen surrounded them as they enjoyed their first moments of husband and wife and started celebrating their, “Forever.”

Oak Glen Engagement – Will loves Nancy

Nancy was actually on date with someone else at Knott’s Scary Farm when she met Will. Will was the lucky guy who had been given an extra ticket. Will didn’t know it then, but his luck was to become even more amazing, for he would meet the girl he would fall in love with and want to marry. Even though Will knew Nancy was the one the moment he met her, Nancy’s first impression of him would be that he was annoying, loud and always trying to be the funny guy. She did not see the connection, but became his friend… then his best friend and then the friend that started to fall in love with his kindness and big heart. They balanced each other out. She was the serious one and he was the goof ball. She calmed him down and he made her laugh. Opposites do attract… when they are soul mates.

Oak Glen Photography: Phillip loves Jessica

Philip walked into the restaurant where Jessica was celebrating her birthday. She didn’t know it then, but the nice guy who drove her home, who she thought was too young for her would be the most amazing present she would ever receive. It would take a year, but at another party, after a few drinks, they started talking. Philip would take her dancing at The Echo in L.A. for their first date. Jessica knew she had found the right guy with who she wanted to spend the rest of her life. She always felt comfortable with him. Hanging out was so easy and fun. Their love was so natural. They became parents and Phillip became an amazing father to their daughter. Phillip also knew there was no other for him. So as the song, Sextape played, in the middle of the mosh pit at a Deftones Concert…He got down on one knee and opened the box. Jessica said yes, to forever.

Oak Glen Photographer: Byron loves Lisa

It was at a Barbecue where they met. Lisa made the first move by talking to him, but it was Byron who asked for her number and so it began. They both liked that neither played games. No one pretended to be someone that they weren’t. There was no pretending. But on the day of the proposal, there was some pretending. Lisa pretended not to notice that something was up… Byron had made dinner plans. He never made plans. He had dressed nice on his day off. He would have been in jeans and a t-shirt, but there he was nicely dressed. Byron had already made sure there were roses on the table at the restaurant. After dinner he pulled out the ring and said, “This is what we are having for desert.” It was the sweetest desert Lisa could ever order.
