Six years ago, Anthony and Christena took their engagement pictures on the desert sands of Palm Springs. They returned with two beautiful children… Mae and Micah. Their kids played with rocks and ran while their parents continued their Love Story.

The last time I saw Yovan and Sonia, they were eloping! Now, they are parents! Their son Ivan is charismatic, silly, and clever. His smile is contagious!!!

You know you have been successful in life when you are surrounded by generations who love you. When she became a grandma, she told her daughter to have her grandchildren call her Mamá Tere, but it became Mom Tere and it stuck. At 83 years old, Mom Tere is a mother, a grandma, a great grandma, a sister, and an aunt who loves and is loved unconditionally. Her family describes her as resilient and a survivor, feisty, a story teller and funny. She is the meaning of dancing and singing out loud, as if no one is watching, all while wearing red lipstick. She will argue when she knows right is right, watches the news like a hawk and if there is danger lurking close by she makes sure her family knows. She loves fashion, her Telenovas and the Lord. All this while still being optimistic about finding a boyfriend.
Her family celebrated her birthday by taking family pictures with her!

Rylie has graduated high school! She is a leader who founded a MESI by partnering up with her school’s counselors and staff to provide a safe environment and connection for the students to hold conversations and activities with the goal of strengthening their self-love and independence. It also gave them the resources and a safe space for them to share what they were enduring. Rylie chose the path of clinical psychology after she experienced her friend’s mental health suffering during the pandemic. With this being the core for heart, she decided to pursue a career in clinical psychiatry. She will be acquiring her undergraduate at UCR and her Masters program at UCSD.
Rylie did her graduation session with those she loves the most… her family.

Sometimes Destiny brings two people together who have been broken and hurt because they will lift each other up, they will be each other’s strength, they will be each other’s answer to a prayer. For Ulises and Anna, it was exactly that.
They were both freshly separated from their marriages and they were friends. Both were apprehensive and unsure in stepping into another relationship, but as Ulises told Anna, he didn’t want her, “not in his life,” even if it meant that it would be nothing more than a friendship.
Two amazing people who each described the other as, “Strength and a positive force,” had to be more than friends. Ana had fallen in love in his heart. Ulises called her, “the love of his life.”
The first kiss would be incredible. Suddenly they were a team. They had God and their children at the center of their relationship. Everything, they did as a family…. never with his kids….or her kids, but The Kids. Each admired the other for loving the children.
Ulises loved that Anna talked with her hands. He was fascinated by the way she described everything as she were directing an orchestra in a theater. What was missing from her hands was a ring. He took Anna to the park and there, the kids held signs that read, “Will you marry my dad?” The man’s whose smiled she loved, who usually towered over her, hugging her making her feel safe and small, was on his knee and asking Anna to be his forever. Anna said, “Yes,” to true love, to laughter and smiles, and to a partner that would be by her side facing the world with her. Anna said, “Yes,” to Ulises.
