Descanso Gardens Quinceañera Photography : Emily

Emily is loving, adventurous and caring. She is her daddy’s mini-me and loves camping, mountain biking, and any outdoor activity. She loves music and singing. She loves little kids. Emily wants to follow her parent’s footsteps and take a career in law enforcement.

Emily’s parents are very proud of her accomplishments: from her grades, sports, and activities to being an amazing big sister to her brother. They hope that she is a successful individual and that she follows her dreams.

This milestone will be celebrated with a Quinceañera! Emily and her family traveled from Nevada to capture her pre-session in the beautiful Descanso Gardens early in the morning.

(Note to photographers. Descanso Gardens requires a permit, photography times are limited, and does not allow reflectors and any off-camera lighting for the protection of the garden and its guests.)

Los Angeles Arboretum Engagement: Alex loves Stacy

They sat next each other in Geometry Class, but were soon moved because they talked too much. Their paths would cross before their volleyball and basketball games in the gym. Perhaps awkward teenage conversation and glances kept it from becoming more or it was a friendship that was worth having for years.

But of course love is always mixed in there and that friendship gradually evolved into a relationship. They spent more time together going hiking, to museums and concerts. They were cautious. Neither wanted to lose the friendship. Neither wanted to lose the other.

Then one night, at Hotel Casa 425 Lounge & Bar, they cuddled by the fire and shared their first kiss.

They had been friends for so long and gone on hundreds of dates, but they picked the Argentinian Restaurant Guacho Grill for their first official one so when people asked, they would know what to say.

Friends for life is exactly what they wanted to be and so Alex made sure he would marry the woman he could always talk to, the one that made him better, the one that would always be his friend. He took Stacie out to Waldorf Astoria in Monarch Beach and when they got back to his apartment, he took Stacy onto the balcony. He read the book, Me Haces Feliz, while Nat King Cole’s, “When I fall in love,” played in the background and asked Stacy to be his forever. Stacy of course said, Yes! She would marry her best friend.

California Botanic Garden Wedding: James and Jackie

Love is immune. Nothing can stop it. Not even a Pandemic. James and Jackie wanted to get married. Their venue had cancelled. The party was postponed until autumn. But when two people want to start their lives together, in the end, they don’t need a jam packed dance floor, they need each other.

Witnessed by their closest family and friends, at St. Madeleine Catholic Church, Jackie and James vowed to love each other forever. They only took their masks off to kiss.

And in then end, it is always the pictures that are left that tell the story. We captured their first portraits as husband and wife in the beautiful California Botanic Garden.

California Botanical Garden: Albert loves Nikisha

Albert clicked on the profile and prayed. He wanted a virtuous woman. Meanwhile, Nikisha was doing the same… praying for a good man. He contacted her, talked to her and fall in love with her heart. She loved God as much as he did. She quoted scriptures. She was the answer to his prayer and he to hers. Two hearts destined to be come one. Albert and Nikisha will journey together as husband and wife.

Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden Wedding: Alex and Riley

“We were all heading for each other on a collision course, no matter what. Maybe some people are just meant to be in the same story.”

8 million people can surround you, but one heart beat is all that will hear when you fall in love.  Riley was alone in New York City. Her best friend had just gone home, her family was across the country, and her birthday was coming up. She sat alone in church, when the guy who had made her laugh, with his  lack of athletic abilities that matched her own, sat beside her. Riley had met Alex at a Friendsgiving. He had answered the door.  This and a game of flag football was the extent  of their friendship. When Alex learned that Riley’s 21st birthday was coming up and she had no one with who to celebrate,  he asked her out.  In his mind, it was not really a date. Not because he did not like Riley, but because he believed that there was simply no way that Riley would date him. He would later tell family and friends, “Look at her! Why would I have believed she would go out with me?”

Whether it was a date or not, they went out, and talked all night. They both called their parents. “Mom! I met a girl,” Alex’s mom recalled at her wedding toast. Riley’s mom could not believe the excitement over a boy her level headed child suddenly had.

Soon after their first date, Riley came home to California. Alex and Riley texted and Face-timed and for the first time Riley really had something to return to in New York besides a job.

The question of if their love story would continue, was answered at the airport. Alex and Riley were both avid readers. Riley’s favorite book was, I’ll Give You the Sun. In the book, oranges make people fall in love.  Besides, his hopes and his open arms, Alex also had an orange for Riley.

One day at a walk at Sunset, between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, Alex took out a fancy button down shirt out of a Ziploc bag and put it on, pulled out a heart shaped box and proposed. There, overlooking the water, Riley said, “Yes,” to only person whose heart she could hear in New York.
