On a morning kissed by sunlight and framed by clear blue skies, Chris stood with his heart full, watching a storybook moment come to life. Down the aisle came his children, each step filled with joy and meaning. His eldest held a teddy bear in honor of Veronica’s mother, while their three youngest daughters blew bubbles and scattered flowers, adding magic to the scene. This was their third try at a wedding. The first, the venue had taken their money. The second, was struck by covid. But how in the most magical place, Chris and Veronica would renew their vows.
Years ago, Chris had fallen for Veronica’s quiet strength and boundless compassion. He couldn’t have known then that their love story would face trials as fierce as any tale of dragons and dark forests.
Veronica was in the hospital when the call came—she had just been diagnosed with kidney cancer. A baby, born with addiction, needed a home. The child’s mother had chosen Veronica, believing she was the one who could provide the love and care her baby needed. Veronica gently declined. “I can’t even lift my own child right now,” she told the social worker. But after hanging up, her heart wouldn’t rest. She prayed.
And then, miracles.
The cancer left. And soon after, a baby was placed in her arms.
Within a year, another call came—another special needs child needed a home. Then, a final call brought them their last daughter. Each child, a gift. Each one choosing them as much as they were chosen. Before long, Chris and Veronica were parents to four beautiful daughters.
Special thanks to vendors like Ultimate Music Entertainment who heard of their story and donated his time and talent so Chris and Veronica could have a reception. Their little girls surrounded them as they danced.
These little girls are cherished beyond measure. They’re bright, joyful, endlessly curious. They dance, read, explore, and participate in every activity they can. Chris and Veronica have given them more than a home—they’ve built a kingdom rooted in love.
