“I’m standing on the shoulders of the ones who came before me. Today my life is full of choice because a young man raised his voice, because a young girl took a chance. I am freedom’s inheritance. Years ago, they crossed the sea and made the life that’s come to me. I’m standing on the shoulders of the ones who came before me.” The words from “Standing on the Shoulders,” sounded across the temple. Eyes watered. Jacob had read from a Torah that had been rescued during World War II, and he shared his Bar Mitzvah with a little boy who lost his life at the age of 8, who shared his name.
His mom’s words describe him well…. “He is one of the kindest, hardest-working, and curious kids I know. He loves to be adventurous —whether it’s trying a new ski slope or cuisine, Jacob is up for new experiences. He always thinks of others and wants everyone to be happy. He is really an all-around wonderful person. ”
The celebration continued at the Double Tree with a Carnival Themed Party!
