Fonzo and Ashlee met in church. Their moms had encouraged them to talk to each other. Perhaps they were imagining how cute their grandchildren would look if they got together. They talked, fell in love and got married. Now a cute little boy named Gabriel David will make them parents. One day I will brag that I shot a professional baseball player for the Dodgers before he was born!
I asked them what qualities they wished for their son. (Besides athletic abilities and a love for the best baseball team ever.) Fonzo wants his son to be a God-fearing loving Catholic, a true gentleman, a college graduate and a family man. Ashlee of course wants him to be devoted to friends and family, to love God and to want to serve Him like his parents do. Fonzo also wants him to have Ashlee’s smile.
Whoever he looks like, what ever he grows up to be, he will be loved.
