Quinceañera Photography: Savannah

A Quinceañera is not just a fancy party for a fifteen year old. It is celebration that a girl is now a young lady. Savannah was a beautiful Quinceañera.

The day began with her Nina helping her get dressed and her best friends teasing her. The beautiful Catholic Church of St. Dennis was where her family and friends came together and gave thanks for Savannah’s childhood ending and prayed for blessings for the next part of her life. Everyone crowded around for after church for a group picture and sang, “Happy Birthday.”

Savannah walked into her reception to the applause of her family and friends. She stood in the middle of the dance floor as pictures of her as child flashed in the background. Her father replaced her flats for heels and then the Silhouette Dance began. Different stages of her life were represented in and then she and her dad came through the curtain and danced. Her waltz was with her brothers.

If a Quinceañera is is celebrating and giving thanks that a young girl is now a young lady. Today was extra special. At 9 months, she was diagnosed with Brain Cancer. The special guest of honor was Dr. Estwick, who had help diagnose Savannah and who had saved her life. He was given special recognition from Savannah’s parents at the toast when they presented him with, “The Physician’s Prayer.” There was not a single dry eye in the house. Savannah changed her outfit and her best friends joined in surprise dance that ended with everyone on the dance floor for a group picture. Balloons fell onto the dance floor and the party began!
