The magic of a Disney Love Story is never limited to a forest with a castle in the background. The prince can be a Chef and the princess can work in the kitchen. Oscar and June worked at Carnation Café at Disneyland. He worked the front of house greeting the guests and June was in the kitchen as a cook. Before the restaurant would open, Oscar would always be in the kitchen, tasting all the food, making sure all the food was perfect. It was. June and Oscar talked often in their break room. Then the day came when Oscar finally asked June
to lunch. June of course said, “I would love to.” She loved his spirit, his kindness and his ability to make everyone smile. June thought their friendly lunch date would be at the Disney Park, but Oscar wanted to take her to a nearby Mexican restaurant…Baja California in Anaheim. They talked for hours…smiling, laughing. They both kept thinking of the other when the date ended. They went out again and it was on that second date that Oscar asked June to be his girlfriend. She said, “Yes!” They did their best to keep their Love Story quiet but of course it was not hard to notice the love they had for each other. Oscar proposed and their Happily Ever After began on May 25th, 2017 in Vegas.
Mickey and Minne, Donald and Daisy, Flynn and Rapunzel, Nala and Simba, The Prince and Snow White, Lady and the Tramp, Pongo and Perdita, Belle and the Beast, Aladdin and Jasmine, Jack and Sally, Aurora and Prince Phillip, Wall•e and Eve, Tarzan and Jane, Prince Eric and Ariel, Cinderella and Prince Charming, Carl and Ellie….. Aurora kept to herself and her book. Johnny talked and laughed with everybody. They were kids in a Quinceañera and were as opposite as could be. He referred to her as “the girl in the corner,” but honestly he had noticed her. Years would pass and Johnny would see Aurora again. She was beautiful and unimpressed that he was playing professional ball. She was the only girl who was not interested in him. If Johnny was doing well in baseball, he struck out with her. So they became friends. Soon Aurora would notice his qualities and he could only think of her.
They became a couple who of course loved spending time with each other, seeing new places and making plans for the future. But the love they had for each other, would soon have to be shared when a little girl who needed love and attention came into their lives, who they rescued. They loved Eva and then the little girl they were adopting was diagnosed with Leukemia. The young carefree couple were now parents with a huge responsibility. Eva got better. Johnny proposed and the future looked bright, but once again Eva got sick. The cure was over 2,800 miles away in the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. And so the wedding they were saving up for was traded in for trips to Pennsylvania every four months.
Vendors in the wedding industry who learned about this couple’s love and sacrifice have come together to ensure that Johnny and Aurora have the Wedding Story they deserve. He was far from being a sweet talker. In fact, Erik could not talk. What came easily over the phone and by text was an almost impossible feat in person. And there he was on his first date with Michelle at Dave & Busters. His phone could no longer be crutch. He had to talk. After some drinks and games, he finally worked up the courage to to ask her if he could hold her hand. Michelle did not know it then, but he handing his heart over to be held.
Michelle gambled on a second date, figuratively and literally. Her mom had given her tickets to the Corona Del Mar Race Track and she decided to invite Erik. If anyone was betting on a great start to the date, they lost. Erik arrived two hours late saved only by the flowers in his hands. Michelle had hoped that their drive to San Diego would be filled with conversation but Erik’s silence was deafening. He didn’t say a word for the entire drive. Once again, Michelle has no clue he was observing, thinking and falling in love with the girl who could talk a mile a minute. In the end, the second date was not a complete disaster, they did have a good time and Michelle proved to be his good luck charm. Erik won BIG at the races! But what he really wanted to win was her love and so once again he asked her out.
The third time was a charm. Erik took her to Newport Beach for a dinner and a romantic walk on the beach. This time, he opened up. If silence is golden, then Erik’s words were worth so much more. Michelle fell in love.

I was blessed to capture Danny and Jackie’s Wedding Story, three years ago. In those three years, we have become close friends. Jackie and Danny have been my assistants and my second photographers. I love that Danny is still, “Goofy,” for her!
Jackie will always be his princess. Dreams do come true.
