Palm Springs Engagement Photography: Anthony loves Christena

Anthony stared at the pictures on Instagram and knew he had to meet Christena. He schemed up a blind date at a bowling alley with their mutual friend. What he did not know was that Christena already knew of him. Years before, they both had attended Colony high school. He was a senior and she was a freshman. Christena had the vivid memory of him dressed as a fireman at Halloween… a cocky fireman. So when he entered the bowling alley and laid eyes on her, her first thought was, “Oh it’s the fireman.”
Soon though, they would both be laughing and joking with each other and Anthony was asking for her number. Their first date would be to In N Out. In an attempt to break the ice, Anthony put salt in Christena’s lemonade. Fail. But lucky for Anthony, Christena did find his, “nervousness,” charming. She also soon found that they shared the same beliefs, morals and goals. Anthony had found the girl that shared his aspirations in life and… laughed at his corny jokes.
If Christena had not been impressed with the fireman, she was falling in love with the policeman. She didn’t want to go a day without seeing him and he missed her when she wasn’t there.
Anthony would propose the day he graduated from the police academy. Christena did not know she had planned her own engagement party. Anthony played a video of his journey through life leading up to finding her. Within the video he created a slideshow of their years together. He asked her to look at him. He was on one knee. She was completely surprised and crying. Of course, she said, “Yes!”

Oak Glen Engagement Photography: Mike loves Cassandra

Cassandra looked at the profiles before her on the E-Harmony site. There he was. A guy that looked genuine. She loved his smile and so she messaged him. Mike could only wonder who the girl with the beautiful eyes was, but soon he was loving her sense of humor and her smile as well. They instantly connected. They had a ton in common. Most couples go to dinner and a movie, but they went for dinner and country line dancing.
Cassandra two stepped into Mike’s heart. As she leaned up against the bar, he just stopped and stared, smiled, pulled her closer and kissed her. There would be no kissing any other for either of them ever again.
Mike loved Cassandra’s sense of humor, her caring personality, and her bright outlook on life, and how she could always make his day better and brighter. Cassandra loved his how he always listened and gave the best advice. He remained positive and he made her smile.
So on a trip to Laguna Beach at Sunset, Mike proposed to the girl who clicked on his profile. Cassandra said, “Yes.”

Pasadena Engagement: Ruben loves Mayra

It would be a Homecoming Dance that would first bring them together, but Ruben and Mayra did not go together. In fact, Ruben did not go at all. He had already graduated from high school and was just hanging out sending off his little sister to her high school dance. One of his sister’s friends caught his eye… and his heart.
He had to make a move. Unfortunately, so did Mayra. She had to move to New York for school A few days before going off to college, Ruben told her how he felt about her.
If he was clear about how he felt, he was bit unclear on asking her for a date. Mayra thought she was being invited as part of a group of friends. Yes, to Ruben’s dismay his sister and her other friends showed up to dinner. By the second date, which was now actually their first real date, Ruben had learned his lesson and was straight forward with Mayra and asked her out again. This time they were alone in AppleBee’s and Mayra began to fall in love. The quiet, super shy guy had her leaning in for a kiss at the end of the night.
Mayra soon learned she was loved by most honest, caring, loving, and funniest man. Ruben always placed others before himself, whether it was to his loved ones or to strangers on the street. He literally could not lie and the truth was he loved her… even when Mayra was on the other side of the country. In the four years of their long distance relationship, he would send her, “care packages,” spend his weekend nights Skyping her, and traveling to NY to visit.
Ruben loved Mayra because he saw her beauty inside and out. She was caring, kind, supportive and loved his humor. With her, he could be his less cool, dorky self. She brought out the best in him and made him strive to be a better man. She encouraged him to reach for his goals and supported him when he needed a helping hand. He loved how she cared for others before she cared for herself. He could tell her anything. She soon became his best friend and his true love.
Ruben took advantage of Mayra being in New York for school and went to her brother’s house to get his help with translating the words he would say to get her parents to receive their blessings. After spending a few weeks trying to plan how to get their families together, he decided that Christmas eve would be the best day to do it. With their families there, he gave her large a box that read “MAYRA.” Within that box was a smaller box that read “WILL.” Finally, the last box read “YOU” on the lid. Within that box was a small pandora charm in the shape of a ring that said, “Marry Me.” Along, the walls of the inner box, were images of them together at their many different adventures. By the time Mayra opened the final box, Ruben was already kneeling, with the ring in the box ready to go. He asked her, “Mayra, Will You Marry Me?”

Mayra said, “Yes!”

Los Angeles Arboretum Engagement: Troy loves Anissa

If Anissa noticed Troy on the elementary school playground as a fifth grader, he didn’t… but he would notice her in high school. They became friends and friends they would remain throughout college. Troy went to San Jose State and Anissa went to APU.
When Troy graduated in the summer of 2016, he moved back to town for the summer. Troy and Anissa were spending more time together. If Troy could not remember her from 5th grade, he could not seem to forget her now. Anissa who had just gotten out of a relationship was not ready to let the friendship turn to anything else. So they hung out almost every day and played lots of mini golf, but friends they stayed.
Troy moved to Colorado Springs. Even though Anissa wanted to only stay, “just friends” she would frequently go visit him. After turning him down twice, she finally said, “yes,” and the long-distance relationship started. New Year’s Eve would be their first kiss!
After dating for 7 months, flying numerous times back and forth, Troy was sick of it. Actually he was really sick. The weekend visit was coming to an end and they had not done a thing. Anissa was getting cabin fever. Troy’s friend came over and he finally got out of the house to take a walk. It was a trail, Troy and Anissa had walked many times before. She did not know it then but that walk would be different. They stopped at their favorite lookout point and as the sun was setting, Troy got down on one knee and proposed while his friend snapped pictures. Anissa said, “Yes.” She will be marrying her best friend.

Pasadena Engagement: Ryan loves Elizabeth

Sometimes you fall in love with your best friend. For Ryan and Elizabeth this wasn’t exactly the case. Ask them and they will jokingly tell you that before their relationship began, they weren’t friends. Years ago they’d met through church, but Ryan was living in California and Elizabeth in Ohio.

In 2012, Elizabeth moved to San Diego, and while the two lived closer to each other, things remained platonic. Then one Sunday after church, Ryan and Elizabeth were with mutual friends at Applebee’s and they both ordered the same meal. It would be the first of many times that they would smile at a simple thing they had in common. The texting and the communicating picked up from there and plans for their first official date was set. It would be on Halloween at Bates Nut Farm. They picked pumpkins, rode a hay ride and wound their way around a hay maze and into each others hearts.

Soon all Ryan could do was think about building a future together with her. She complimented his life and pushed him to grow. Ryan loved the way Elizabeth loved him- when he was at his best and when he was at his worst. He loved how she cared deeply about family and doing good to others. And of course… he loved how beautiful she was.
For Elizabeth, Ryan was the best part of her day. He made her heart incredibly happy. Her life was blessed beyond measure he was in it.
Fast forward to May 12th, 2017. Elizabeth was working at Ryan’s school as a long-term sub.Ryan told Elizabeth he’d heard from someone in the office that there was this great little park in downtown LA where there would be food trucks, something they’d both enjoy, and they should check it out.

Ryan took cupcakes for dessert because he actually knew there would be nothing there, only him with a ring and a question. Elizabeth said, “Yes!”
