San Juan Capistrano Mission Engagement Photography: Michael loves Vanessa

The first day that Michael saw Vanessa, he thought she was beautiful. They were both in the youth ministry at St. Madeleine’s Catholic Church. But if he had any hopes of becoming friends with Vanessa, they soon ended, when he went to her house to work on a project. Vanessa’s puppy Trucky got scared, ran backwards, and hurt himself. Vanessa blamed Michael and she wanted him gone. He stayed away…for a while anyway. At least they were friends.
Two years would pass before Vanessa would have to really work with Michael again. He was in RCIA, becoming a Catholic. Vanessa was his Faith Formation Coordinator. While she was leading him towards faith. He was leading her heart.
Michael finally asked Vanessa out… except that what was supposed to be a date to the Aquarium of the Pacific, ended up being a family outing. Vanessa invited her sister and cousins to also go. Their first kiss would be at the end of the night.
Proof that they were meant together happened when they were apart. The Air Force deployed Michael to Texas. Vanessa missed him and she knew then she could not be apart from him. His parents invited her to go up for a visit. She surprised Michael whose prayers of seeing her had worked. Together they were meant to be.
Fast forward to a hike to the Hollywood Sign… or at least part of the way there. Vanessa was hot, tired and hungry and she did not want to take another step. Neither did Trucky who was with them. Michael insisted they just go up a little farther and around the bend. After some convincing, Vanessa went. Michael had barely uttered the words, “Just like it took us a lot of trouble to get here…,” a tour bus pulled up. Vanessa stopped listening to Michael and instead turned her attention to the tour guide who was explain their location and the history of California. The tour bus finally left and Vanessa turned to Michael again. This time he finished his sentence, got on one knee and asked Vanessa to be his forever. She said, “Yes.”
