Oak Glen Engagement: Robert loves Pita

Robert’s little sister had a friend over. They did notice each other, but Pita knew that her best friend’s older brother was out of her league. Yet, she was charmed already by his kindness. Robert respectfully kept his distance from the fifteen year old, even though Pita’s smile had brightened his entire mood. Five years would go by before Robert asked her out. Even though Pita had always been attracted to him, she declined. She did not want a long distance relationship and she also certainly did not want to lose her best friend if it did not work out. Robert asked again and Pita declined once more, even though she could not stop thinking about him. She prayed and asked God to send her a sign that it would be okay to date Robert. At that moment, the phone ran again and Robert asked again. Whether it was an answered prayer or third time was a charm, Pita and Robert went out.
It rained. It poured. As they left the restaurant to go to the movie theater, Robert ran to the car to put away the left overs. He left Pita the umbrella. Once again, Pita saw the kindness and care that Robert had for her. They watched the movie and kissed for the first time under the umbrella. Pita smiled and Robert knew he wanted always to be the reason she did.
Their happiness would have to be official at the Happiest Place on Earth… Disneyland. They were there almost everyday. Their nights would always end at the Wishing Well on the side of the castle. It was under construction. Family was with them and Pita was getting upset that Robert was pulling her away from them. She was actually angry.“Babe. There’s people with us. We just can’t leave them.” What she did not know is that her family and friends were there to witness, take pictures and videotape. There she stood on the bridge in front of the castle to see Robert on his knee. “Will you do me the honer of being my wife?” Pita could not speak. She nodded and people around her started to clap. Finally, the word came out, “Yes.”
