Olga was used to being the quiet one. She was shy. Yet that night at the party she met Octavio who was actually very shy… and dorky. Soon two shy people were making each other laugh at silly things. A couple of weeks would pass before Octavio asked her out on date. He showed up late because he didn’t have a car at the time. They would have dinner and a movie but not a first kiss. Olga liked that he wasn’t aggressive. She loved that he cracked jokes and made her laugh. On their second date they had their kiss. Olga loved that he was a genuinely nice person. He was very caring towards her family, his family and of course with her. He was the biggest dork and they could be goofy together. With each other they were themselves. Octavio loved that Olga was a caring, affectionate person and she didn’t mind his clumsiness. They both found the same dumb things funny.
Octavio planned an entire day of activities. He started with a gondola ride in Long Beach. Olga expected a proposal then, but Octavio instead took her to brunch and then the rose garden at Exposition Park. He got down on one knee and he asked Olga to be his forever. Olga cried like a baby. And Octavio in his ever so clumsy way almost dropped the ring. They would laugh so much afterwards when they realized that it was December and there were no roses around them. It was the perfect proposal for a shy girl and a dorky guy who loved each other.
